Remembering 9-11-2001

The tragic events of September-11-2001 have changed us all. It has made us stronger and closer. I could not go out and shop without a deep sense of loss. I seemed to be constantly choking back tears.:( Seeing all the USA flags flying from almost every home and car is a constant reminder of those we've lost. We have truely become America United. No one has the right to take our freedom from us, as they are now finding out. God Bless America.

My friends and family have been very fortunate, we didn't suffer any losses. Some narrow escapes and the loss of a few neighbors from the old neighborhood. But basically unscathed.

We are all family in a way and it saddens me to see so much pain:( But I am proud of how strong we are and how we are all uniting and watching out for one another:)

Thank You to all the volunteer searchers and rescuers here in New York, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania. The FDNY, NYPD, Paremedics and all emergency crews. For all the blood sweat and tears that have gone into your rescue efforts.

Our condolences to all who have lost their loved ones. May the Lord be with you in these trying times. A few roses in their memory.

I was on my way to N.M. to visit my brother Harold and his wife Thelma on September 11. She was given 3 months to a year to live. Which she was trying to beat with a detoxifying regime after chemo therapy. We were praying for a miracle. Needless to say I never got there that day.

It was 9:00 am when I got into the cab to get to American Airlines at Laguadia for my 10:30 flight. The radio was on and they were reporting one of the Twin Towers of the world trade center was hit. Then the report of the second plane hitting the south tower:( As we went over the Whitestone Bridge, we could see thick black smoke coming from both towers. It was a heart wrenching sight.

They evacuated the American Airlines terminal soon after I arrived. I was lucky to get a van out and when we reached the Whitestone bridge the towers were gone:( I came home to frantic phone messages and emails hoping I wasn't on one of those planes, as there was still little details of where these planes originated. I am thankful I didn't take the earlier flight as I would not have reached New Mexico yet and been stuck who knows where. My brother just boarded a path train under the Trade Center as the first plane hit. He saw the second plane hit as he arrived in New Jersey. Angels were working over time that day.

I get premonitions and or omens from time to time. I was unduly anxious and upset about this trip and I was attributing it to the reason for it and leaving my fids. I even prayed ferverently to the Lord the night before that something was not right, something was very wrong, to send angels, lots of angels. I was crying and could not figure out why I was so upset.

I had had a dream about a week before. It was in color as when premonitions and omens come to me. There were a lot of us in beds in the clouds and all we wanted to do was rest. But we had to fly angels on unicycles somewhere. We were giant African grey parrots and were waiting for leg amputations. There were hundreds of us flying these angles on the unicycles. I thought it quite weird but being I have Sammy and Thumper the footless greys with amputated feet, I thought this was still the worry about the upcoming trip. But why fly angels when they already can fly! And on unicycles! My cousin Gail woke up at 3:00 am that morning also praying ferverently and not knowing why. As soon as I heard of the tragedies, I realised why all the worry, dream and praying. This was a disaster of great magnitude. with thousands of souls involved. The spiritual world was in high gear for sure. The angels were there, along with our Lord to protect, gather and comfort. And they continue to be here now to help us through it all.

Another wierd thing is, I have these three angel statues. They were always dancing for about three weeks before the tragedies. I say dancing because I had to keep putting them back where they were, The middle one was almost over the edge of the dresser a few times. After these tragedies, they stayed put.

I refused to let the acts of terrorists stop me and finally got to N.M. a week later:) We had a wonderful visit with many warm memories. That's Thelma and I with Harold popping in and out. Neat trick, huh.:) Harold also made the eagle1 graphic above.

I made a page especially for you all. Hoping it may make you smile for a moment or two. I do hope it does:) May God bless you all in these trying times.
